case study

project summary

Brookfield Properties contracted EMO for sustainable design consulting. The 1225 Connecticut Ave project is a rehabilitation of an 8 story office building with three below grade parking levels and rooftop penthouse and terrace. The building was designed as ‘Core and Shell’ with flexible interior elements to easily assist future LEED for Commercial Interior fit outs.

specific results:

Reusing 92% of the building structure preserved the embodied energy in the original construction of the building. The building is projected to reduce energy costs by over 22 percent. The project team worked in tandem with the future tenant to successfully incorporate sustainable building aspects into both the base building and the interior fit out.
